Randall Ricketts, age 58, of Foxborough, died on Monday, Aug. 29 in a three-car hit-and-run crash on Route 95 in North Attleborough, according to the Massachusetts State Police. A man from Cranston, Rhode Island, Joseph Pompei Jr., was later arrested in relation to the crash.

The Foxborough man was described as "a loving and devoted husband and Dad" in a GoFundMe created to support the family.

"Randy, you were the gold standard by which all men should live their lives," read a Facebook tribute post. "I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know you and have a relationship with you that spans many years. You have had such an impact on the lives of so many people because anyone who knew you now knows what it is to be a true loving, family man."

Ricketts' family members, including his wife and children, were left to navigate an "immensely difficult time" after his death.

Friends and family solicited donations towards the family's educational and other future expenses, and donors met the request with enthusiasm, pouring out over $45,000 in donations in a single day.

"The Ricketts are some of the nicest people I know," wrote one donor. "The neighborhood crew supports you all."
